Mobile Synthetic Gas (SNG) Propane-Air Mixing System
Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) is a gas obtained by mixing air (AIR) with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), achieving a calorific value equivalent to that of methane (natural gas). SNG can be burned in burners as a direct alternative to natural gas without the need for reconfiguration or replacement of the burners.
The Mobile SNG Mixing System (or LPG-Air Mixer) is a system where LPG and air are mixed at low pressure (up to 25 mbar) and low capacity (up to 90 m³/h) in appropriate proportions, creating synthetic natural gas (SNG) at the system's output with properties similar to those of natural gas.
Advantages of the System:
1. Mobility – Easy to install and relocate.
2. Autonomy – Does not require any external power source, such as electricity.
3. Simplicity of Design.
4. Rapid Start-Up.
I-Maximum, in collaboration with its partners, designs mobile synthetic gas (SNG) mixing installations on mobile platforms, in containers, and stationary installations in open spaces. Each system is tailored to the specific needs of the client, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability.
Inside the Venturi mixer, air is drawn in through the air intake at a precisely calibrated level. The Venturi mixer’s nozzle is specifically calibrated for the appropriate gas mixing ratios. The mixed gas then flows into a buffer tank, which ensures an even flow rate at the outlet.
The final pressure reduction occurs at the second stage regulator, delivering the gas at the required operating pressure.
The entire process is meticulously controlled by a series of components that ensure the safety and control of the system. These components include an on-off controller that regulates the valve, assisting in obtaining the correct gas mixture, and safety devices with impulse lines to various parts of the system.
Applications:
· With the advent of combined heat and power (CHP) systems and gas heat pumps, many companies have adopted the mobile SNG mixing system as a backup in case of gas supply failures.
· In some rural areas where there is no access to natural gas, these systems are also used to power heat engines.
· Building developers can supply gas to homes before the main gas lines are laid, avoiding costly retrofits later, and use approved natural gas appliances and equipment in off-grid areas.
Technology:
The propane-air mixing system is powered by propane (LPG) sourced from a container or tank. The LPG first passes through a shut-off valve, then through the first stage pressure regulator, and subsequently through an on/off valve before entering the Venturi mixer. This valve ensures that the correct amount of LPG is delivered to the Venturi mixer.
